LBQ women in Kenya face jail sentences, forced marriages, corrective rape and disownment. We bear witness to this experience and see through Girald’s eyes how they are resisting this persecution and fight for change.

The rights of women like Girald are on a knife edge. Despite the fact that Kenya’s high court ruled for the second time to not decriminalise homosexuality on May 24th 2019, grassroots groups and NGOs continue to put pressure on establishing LGBT+ rights. As Girald continues in her fight to be heard and to help establish LGBT rights, this film will amplify her voice and the voices of others like her, at a pivotal moment in her nation’s history.
